It seems that I am easily distracted. My daddy might say its because I am blonde, the Engineer might suggest its because I am ‘over doer’, others might think its because I am left-handed and use the ‘other’ side of my brain to do my thinking, or speaking of my brain it could be that little issue of my thalamus not functioning properly! Whatever it is it appears that some of my posts during this relationship series I have left out the bolded questions for you to journal and pray about. So I come today with:
A side of questions:
1- Do you need God?
2- Are you living in His grace?
3- How is your relationship with your Creator today?
4- Are you in a passionate pursuit of His heart?
5- What is one thing that has been revealed to you by your Creator about your relationship with Him during this series so far?
6-Do you agree with the statement 'Relationships are not meant to be created by us.'
7- What relationship right now in your life needs some grace, love and attention?
We will now be transitioning into our relationships with others. Please keep in mind the needed foundation. Our relationship with our Heavenly Father must be right for us to live right in relationship with others. We will be shining the light of Gods word on our relationships with our parents next. For some those relationships are healthy, for some those relationships are strained,and for others those relationships are non-existent. Wherever you find yourself in relation to your parents, please know that only God can bring beauty to it! Please join me in seeking out Gods truth, grace and love for our relationships with our parents.
So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge-that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:17-19

God has been doing a work in me regarding my relationship with my parents. And the most delightful thing He has shown me is that His love is ENOUGH. I haven't been cheated out of anything, I am not missing love, because His is more than sufficient.
My parents have been gone since the '80's. We did not have the relationship I would have liked but I know they loved me and I made sure they were taken care of when they became sick. My mother was a Godly woman and God showed me 3 times that my dad was a Christian. There was a big generation gap between us which didn't help but I always honored them. I have no regrets and had total peace when they went home to be with Jesus.

Loved the questions! I have been asked most of these lately by our counselor.
We are working on forgiveness issues from past hurts within the church.
The place we should feel the saftest is the most tramatic for us.
But God is healing and with Him we do feel safe.

My relationship with Mama and Daddy is great! They are awesome! Older, but wiser. We can truly talk about everything. God blessed me with them many years ago as I was adopted. Chosen by Him for them :)

I wanted to share a quote from my wise husband about relationships. He said, "Relationships are the bridge from the temporal to the eternal." Our relationship with Him gives us eternal life, and our relationship with others is the only lasting thing from this life. Deep, huh?

I believe that sometimes God tells us that the healthiest thing in some relationships is to walk away. Even with a parent. Sometimes we are made better wives, mothers, women when we realize that some relationships are not only harmful to ourselves but to our families as well.

I've been pondering over each question...also rereading the notes you've written us. So much to let sink in!
1) YES, I need God! That's a no-brainer for me, sister! :) Moving along to, 2) He's so good to me, everyday...I'm living in His grace.
3)I absolutely LOVE and ADORE and WORSHIP and am, in AWE of my Creator. I can't imagine a day without His Presence. When I don't hear His whispers...I still know I can speak to Him and I do! I talk to Him all day long. I'm a little chatter-box, going 90 sometimes! I believe His Word. His eyes are never off of me. He knows everything. Every little thing. Every speck. Nothing goes by Him!
4)I passionately AM pursing His heart. His heart of LOVE...Oh, that I could be transformed more, to be more like Him!
5) Something that has stuck out to me...He picked not only me, but my parents, before we were all born. He chose my parents to be "my parents." He wanted them to be "my parents" for a particular reason! THIS IS A BIG REVELATION TO ME!
6)This question I'm just not "getting." I understand that he chose us to have a relationship with Him...that I would never have "been in relationship with Him, if he did not pick me first." I get this part...but, I'm not getting the 'relationships are not meant to be created by us.'
Does this mean, He picks our relationships that He wants us to have? Hmmm...I need to ponder this, I feel "brain-dead." :)
7)My relationship with my mother. I love her. She's prayed for me her whole life. She's Wordly Wise...a woman whose read the Bible 30 times plus! But, we are oil and vinegar sometimes. I honor her in every way...however, not in my thoughts---which I'm seeking God for everyday...sometimes numerously!!!
Funny thing, she has the "same relationship" with her own Mother! She does not know how I feel...I adore my Mema 'grandma.'
The two of them are oil and vinegar.

2:If not by His grace, I would be hopeless.

I have realized that I still define my worth too much by what others think of me and not by what God thinks. Clearly I'm still a work in progress with a ways to go.
