I am so surrounded right now with a very clear message about comparing.
Just Don’t Do It!
Friends I just have to ask:
Why in the world do we even play a game that only ends up in a no win situation?
For if we compare ourselves to someone else, what are we truly seeking out?
Do we need someone else to make us feel better about ourselves?
And do we truly need that feeling of insecurity and doubts when we walk away from a comparison moment, feeling less than.
One thing Jesus didn’t do…was compare Himself to anyone other than His Father.
So why do we?
Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don't be impressed with yourself. Don't compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life. Galatians 6:4 (The Message)
We have over the past few weeks visited the foundation our Creator has laid in regards to Sex. A most purposeful and beautiful foundation. One that when truly lived out in its design is so amazing!
A foundation that finds itself within the walls of marriage. Marriage takes work! Go back and read the verse above, "Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given," Your marriage, the one between you and your spouse.
Friends some of the best advice I have been given over the years that I pull out often…
"Spend your time working on improving yourself, then you won’t have time to compare with others, critique others or judge others"
May we be encouraged to quit wasting time watching movies and comparing ourselves to a Hollywood created version of what Sex should look like!
May we instead be encouraged to reach out and grab our spouse’s hand, and invite God to reveal to us the beauty He has for us. And friends brace yourselves, everything He creates will take your breathe away!

Nichole, thank you again for being so obedient to His calling and writing these wonderful posts. I absolutley love this quote that you shared--"Spend your time working on improving yourself, then you won’t have time to compare with others, critique others or judge others" Thank you sweet friend!! Have a wonderful evening!

so true girl! SOOOO true!!
I'm here to testify to that... When God changed me over a month ago... He took away my repression and frigidity. He gave me a desire to please and be pleased sexually within the confounds of my marriage bed. My husband teases me and tells me I'm insatiable. I wonder if that's good or bad. My husband says it's better than the alternative. Which is what I was before. NO Thanks. I like the new me! Praise GOD! Thank YOU Father God!
This is so good, Nichole. I know that comparing can keep me from wanting to offer myself to my husband. If I look at other women who are thinner, in better shape, or just plain ol' more beautiful, I can start thinking that surely my husband can't want me. But he DOES. And it is not ever my place to deny him because I think I don't measure up.
Great post today, and great reminder for me to NOT compare myself to others. My husband chose me...and if he wants me, then by golly he can have me! ;)
Love you,
K
I've always heard that when we compare ourselves to others we are saying we are not content and satisfied with ourselves or what we have. I know I'm guilty of that...wanting a marriage, wanting a smaller body, wanting certain skills. It's crazy and sinful.
Amen and amen!! I've been doing some thinking about the danger and sin really of comparison...
Way to say it my friend! :)
Thank you, Nichole! I loved the quote also!
God, on purpose created each one of us like He desired. We each are a unique creation; we were created, one of a kind, created for His glory. Fearfully and wonderfully made. When you really think about that. How could we want to compare ourselves to what Elohim (God) created? He created us just the way we are for His specific purpose. He has created each one of us differently, in order that the works of God may be displayed.
We seek to honor Him, by taking care of ourselves the best that we can. Each day focusing on Christ. Desiring to be filled with His Spirit. Living each day in victory. Love pouring out to our husband. Seeking to really know our husband, just like we seek to know God more and more each day. To honor the special relationship that we have with our husband.

No comparing or coveting. I hear you. I love the verse version you quoted. Great!
Thanks for writing on a hot topic. I know God is using your words. Praise Him.
Love and hugs!
That's that stinky thinkin we do, and I know we all do it every now and then. "guilty"!!! But I do try and work on this and say I am so blessed, that everything I see, have, need, want I already have and it's better.
Great post, mostly a great reminder
Have a blessed and joyfilled weekend :)
I remember a statement that one of the MOPS speakers made when I was a MOPS mom - which has often come back to teach me. She said, "Comparison is the killer of contentment."
That is so true!
We've got to stop comparing.
Every now and then, I catch a much needed glimpse of my husband that reminds me why I love him so very much. He is a good man, through and through. I use to compare him to others more seemingly successful than him, but over the years, I've come to appreciate his finer qualities that are rarely found in today's economy.
I'm just grateful for a man who loves me unconditionally and who puts my interest ahead of his. I'm learning to do the same in return.

Awesome post. I am guilty of the comparison game at times, though I know better. It usually leaves me feeling "not enough." Thanks for the encouraging reminder!
Be Blessed,
Krista
