Not my words

Dear Friends thank you so much for joining me in this series on relationships.

I come this morning to share a little bit of my heart. Why? Because in all honesty it will reveal my God and the work He is doing.

You see I don't have this series all set in an outline on my computer...notes and ideas...yes...but nothing that is automatically loaded up onto blogger. I know that might scare some of you and have you asking 'then what in the world is this girl doing?' The short answer...trying to be obedient to God and listen and allow Him to direct this series! I am praying this morning for God to open our hearts and to speak to each one of us personally. Speak to us in a way that only He can. I know He will do it! I am also praying that we are listening. Listening to Him.

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born I set you apart;
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."
Jeremiah 1:5

Friends please go back and read the verse again. What word(s) catch your eye?

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born I set you apart;
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." Jeremiah 1:5 (emphasis mine)

In the past few days we have been looking at the importance of a relationship with God and getting to know Him. We looked at the importance of knowing God and not just knowing about Him.

Will you join me in letting this verse soak into your heart?

"We are so used to considering everything through the prism of our current feelings and our most recent acquisitions that it is a radical change to consider the vast before. But if we would live well, it is necessary. Otherwise we live feebly and gropingly, blind to the glory that we are known, chosen and given away by God." (Eugene Peterson, Run with the Horses)

We were a part of the before...Gods before!

He knew us!

He set us apart!

He appointed us!

These are all things He did before He created us!

God knew you before He created you. He thought about you, He loved you, He planned for you!

He knows you.

He thinks about you.

He loves you.

He has plans and purpose for you. To use you to bring glory and honor to Him!

Dear Father these precious words are Yours. I pray that only You can speak them into the hearts of Your people. May we truly know today that You know us. Amen

These are such powerful words Nichole.

I'm thankful that you don't have a pre-written script. It is so refreshing to hear from the Lord on a daily basis.

Continue being obedient and watch what our God will do.

Blessings to you,
Cindy

Wow! Wow!! Wow!!!
This is where it's at Nichole! KNOWING GOD! On a personal basis, on a first-name, best-friend basis! Letting this sink in and feeling God's Presence around me - just overwhelms me at the moment. That he would pick me out, that he planned for me, that he thinks about me.

Praising & blessing him...
requesting and turning over my daily concerns to him...
and then truly listening for his whispers...
while praising him some more!!!

KNOWING that he knows what is best. That he will answer me in his due time. Giving up the control...turning it over to our God.

This is where it's at Nichole! I'm so giving thanks to my savior for your obedience in listening to him speak to you! I'm tickled pink that you don't have a script! Praise God! Now, you have to lean on him for HIS wisdom for us.

Loving my God, loving you sweet sister, and loving all the sisters writing comments on your blog!

Looking sooooooooooo forward to growing together in our relationship with Jesus. By sharing our comments we are encouraging each other!

Actually, I'm pretty relieved you don't have it all mapped out. :) I am glad you are a willing, flexible, and obedient vessel before the Lord. That seems to work a bit better for hearing from Him. :)

And, as you know, He has been speaking to my heart on this matter, too. The matter of knowing me and having plans for me. Reading your blog is further confirmation of all He is speaking to my heart.

Love you tons and tons! And I am praying for you as you continue to delve ever deeper into the richness of a relationship with the Father. I'm right with ya', girl!

And just in case anonymous from yesterday comes by today...please know God had you on my heart...I am praying for you. I don't say that out of "look at me, I'm so religious and I am praying for you." I am saying it out of a heart that has hurt so deeply and has known such desperate need for Him. Praying you not only know that He is with you, but that you feel it like never before.
Love,
K

I always think about how God knew just when and where to place us in the world. We live during the times we do because God specifically wanted us to be in that particular generation. We have something to offer in the here and now that maybe wouldn't have been needed or appropriate at another time in history or in another part of the world.

I always love learning about the first half of the 20th century, particularly the depression era. Something draws me to that time in history, but God chose for me to be born in 1964 and to be a part of the current times. I'm here for a specific reason, and I need to follow His will for my life.

I needed to hear this today! I think I sometimes forget about God's before. It's good to remember and realize that I've been there all along, in his thoughts and included in the great scheme of a kingdom agenda.

Thank you for the reminder and for stopping by the blog. Your presence there means so very much to me.

What your doing with this study is great and I believe this is exactly the way God wants you to do it. God knew me before I was born and He had a plan for my life. For years I felt so inadequate, that there was not anything I could do for Him. He spared my life at least 3 times so that His plan for me would be done. It takes some of us a while to really understand how much God loves us. I love Him so much and could never do enough to repay Him but all He wants is our commitment to Him.

Thank you for your comitment to God, your love for Him and for sharing your heart with all of us.

A cousin sent me a video (which I put on my blog yesterday) that really inspired me as to how great He really is. It's called "One Pair of Hands".
From my heart to yours,
AliceE.

Well, today I've been pondering over this some more. Thinking about the part that He knew us before He created us! We are so busy thinking about our "current feelings" like E. Peterson said...

Taking the thought that He knew us before He created us...then, He also knew our families before He put us all together! He had it all mapped out before; this was not something we could choose. He placed us with the parents He wanted us to have. So, I've been thinking about this and have come to the conclusion today, that He placed us with parents that sometimes, would cause us to seek Him out more...which would deepen our relationship with Him! So by having a deeper relationship with Him, we can love our own parents like He wants us to. I don't know if this makes any sense, but it really did to me today.

Blessings,
