He'll take you there

Jesus came on a mission. He came with the intent to take you home.

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going."
Jesus the Way to the Father

Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?"

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him."

Philip said, "Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us."
John 14:1-8 (NIV)

Jesus said to him, "Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, 'Show us the Father'?

"Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works.

"Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves.
John 14:9-11 (NAS)

May you allow Him to take you there.

What a comforting post to know that because we have Jesus in our hearts, we also have God and the Holy Spirit. I look forward to "homecoming" day. I'm listening for the sound of the trumpet also. I truly believe the time is drawing near to the return of our precious Lord and Savior. I truly love Him. He has done so much for me, how could I not love Him. It truly pays to stay prayed up and we need to pray for our extended families and friends who do not know Him as their Savior.
Blessings and have a wonderful Easter,
AliceE.

"The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative...." Right there, our ears should perk up. Jesus was not speaking on His own initiative at that moment, but of His Father's initiative. Man, how powerful is that for us!?

It's a great teaching moment for the disciples, because even though Jesus was fully God, He continued to say, out of humility, that His Father was the One who spoke through Him. We need to realize that in anything good, it is our Father who speaks through us, works through us, and not we ourselves.

Thanks for pulling out the moment, Nichole!

Oh...that was a good one today! I love those verses. I can't imagine what it will be like on the day that I meet Him face to face. Awestruck. Speechless. Awakening.

Allowing Him to take me there,
Krista

Because I've been doing a Bible study on Daniel, I've been reading some other books on prophecy and the end times. The first quote in your post today has been on my mind lately. In the past few weeks, I've been dreaming that I'm in this house that just has room after room in it. In the dreams I just wander through the house and find different rooms at every turn. The furnishings are very elaborate.

The funny thing is that the house has a TON of bathrooms! I think I may be wishing for a house with more than one bathroom rather than dreaming of Heaven! (I share 1 bathroom with my hubby and two sons. I'm never alone in there! And if I sit on a wet seat one more time, I'm going to scream!)

Seriously, good post for Easter week!

Simply beautiful. Your heart resonates with mine. The Lord is daily using you "on purpose" to touch places of my heart that need His healing.

Like Thomas today I am saying, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?" My family is praying for God's direction in our situation and decisions that need to be made, papers that need to be signed...today...and like Thomas we are feeling lost and uncertain.

Thank you for reminding me that He IS the way. Continuing to trust that He will guide and keep us from paths not part of His plan.

Hugs to you my friend,
Joy
