It is good

As you read Genesis you read about the amazing details of a Creator and His amazing work. As He is creating, He is also critiquing His work,

"And God saw this it was good."

For everything that He created, everything He designed and everything He put His hand to, was good.

**Take a moment and think on this. Everything He created is good.

It reveals just part of the awesome character of our Creator. For everything that comes from Him is good.

"God saw all that He had made and it was very good." Genesis 1:31 (emphasis mine)

As you continue on in Genesis you will come to this verse:

The Lord God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him." Genesis 2:18 (emphasis mine)

Now we have just established that everything God created was good and we come to this verse which can shake things up a little.

**How could God have created something that was ‘not good’?

I am so excited about this huge revelation of the character of God in this verse!

The Lord God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him" Genesis 2:18 (emphasis mine)

He is making a divine statement about His character. God had never experienced aloneness before.

The Trinity= God the Father-The Son and the Holy Spirit. All three existing in one beautiful divine and eternal relationship.

The Trinity is a very deep and intimate relationship that is all encompassing and within in it we find everything.

God the Creator of the deep and intimate relationship.

If we truly believe that He is the creator of the relationship, we should look to Him for what the nature and purity of all relationships should look like.

Genesis 2:18 reveals to us a relationship that God created with a very important purpose. A relationship that He started back in the Garden of Eden.

Because I am more than blessed to live with The Engineer I know that when someone ‘creates something’ or builds something or designs something they are very familiar with how that ‘something’ works. So because God is the Creator of this relationship He is very knowledgeable on how it should be lived out.

However because of the Fall and sin entering the world and clouding the picture. This relationship that was created by the perfect hand of God has been darkened, twisted, and corrupted in today’s world.

**Have you figured out what relationship we are going to look at next?

Marriage.

God takes this relationship very serious. He has a specific purpose for it.

There is unity, perfection, peace and joy in His design. All which has been hard to see in today’s culture.

The world, sin, hates this relationship. The world is trying to re-create God’s design. Being married is no easy task. It is not something to be entered into lightly, or quickly, or without much thought. It is not something to do to prove a point, or to make a situation right. Marriage is often misrepresented in today’s secular culture.

Dear Heavenly Father please help us all to pause right here. We ask that You Lord open our hearts to truly hear Your voice today. Lord bring everyone up close and personal to You and remind them of who You are, they Creator and that You have purpose for them. You love them and all that You have for them is perfect and wonderful. I pray for the marriages today and ask for You to do new things in all of the marriages that will be represented here today. I pray that we truly get that only You Lord can create our marriages to be beautiful and God honoring. Amen

Please join me and allow God to lead us through this beautiful relationship He has designed.

And for my friends who are not currently married I believe you will gain such great revelations about the character of Your Creator from this and I am excited for us to be in awe together!

May we commit to praying for the marriages around us.

Wow, I'm letting this sink in Nichole...I'm looking forward to pondering over this and seeing what God has to show me...last week we read Song of Solomon in the Chronological Study with Wendy Pope. What a beautiful love story. I thought about this chapter off and on, and still, it seems to be on my mind. It is so very different than other chapters in the Bible. God meant for the chapter to be apart of the Bible tho. He meant for us to read about the mutual love between a husband and a wife while teaching us to honor married love. The chapter illustrated Christ's love for His Church, but as I thought more and more about it, I think He has it in the Bible for a deeper meaning. He wants a quality of love to be present between husband and wife as well.

Our love today continues to grow as we wait expectantly for that first glimpse of Him when the Day comes! As a bride, we also need to look forward to seeing our husband and keeping our relationship alive. Because God inspired this book to be written, it's worth seeking to learn about what He might want us to get out of it. For me, I saw "married life" from God's perspective. It means a lot to God! It's not something we should take for granted.

Looking forward to diving right in to this relationship!

Praying for you as you continue to work on these posts on relationship. That He will continue to give you beautiful revelation about His amazing character and His purposeful ways.

This is a great post! I love my husband so much and so want to have a marriage that is all that God, the awesome Engineer that He is, wants it to be. :)

Blessings, sweet Nichole!

This one is going to be interesting...to see where God takes you and us.

I have been married to the same man for 28 years. Life has given us joys and trials. To walk together through hills and valleys has been both thrilling and frustrating.

Through many seasons and paths we have at times lost our way but the Lord always reveals Himself and makes our path straight again.

We are in the midst of a valley season with my husband's illness and the days ahead seem to be covered in clouds but I know my Jesus...He will reveal His Silver Lining.

Looking forward to what God has in store for all of us.

Blessings to you my friend,
Cindy

Hi Girls,
Today I've been thinking about the verse you left us with, Nichole.
Genesis 2:18
How many times have I read that verse? Honestly, many times, but I've never really let it sink in!
As I've been pondering over it today...I'm seeing a deeper meaning:

How can I be of help to my husband today?
How can I be of assistance to him?
How can I support him and back him up in front of my teenage son's?
How can I be a relief to him today?
How can I show him compassion?

God takes our marriage relationship very serious. In our society, the whole concept of marriage has become distorted.

Dear Jesus, Help me to model marriage in a way that honors you. Thank you so much for my dear husband. I want to respect him and be the helper to him that you desire of me. Thank you for the faithful husband you have created. You selected us to be together, even before I knew him. Let me not take him for granted. Loving you Lord and praising you now for opening this verse up to me more. Thank you for Nichole. Pour out your wisdom to her as she seeks your guidance while preparing her posts.
Amen.
