Your Current Situation

When we read the end of Deuteronomy we learn that God shows Moses the Promised Land from the top of a mountain and then Moses dies. Moses was a great man, Israel’s greatest prophet. God called Moses His friend, and he was the only man that spoke face to face with God. The next book in the Bible is Joshua. Chapter one starts with the new generation after wandering in the desert for 40 years is ready to enter to the Promised Land as Joshua their leader. First Joshua and the people are taught the importance of courageous and consistent faith.

God is speaking to Joshua:

"Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their forefathers to give them. Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:6-9

Wow, talk about some serious repetition. Our God is cool like that when He really wants to drive home a point to us He will repeat it for us. Have you ever had one of those days where every where you turn the same "theme" for the day is popping up?!

So today whatever your current situation is:

Depression

Sickness

Loss of a child

Bankruptcy

A marriage that is not safe

An illness that doctors can’t heal

Loneliness

A new city

An addiction

Loss of a job

A new ministry

Your God is telling you to be strong and courageous!

The story of Joshua is one of my favorites. During a time in my life when I was asked to do something that seemed SO much bigger than myself (which everything is), I clung to the words be strong and courageous.
Now, as God places me in a new situation I am again reminded to be strong and courageous.
I was just praying about something this morning - I am heading up a new women's ministry at our church beginning tomorrow - and parts of me want to run away - but I see God has brought this same scripture back in front of me today.
I will be strong and very courageous AND trust that this IS HIS plan.
Thanks for the reminder today.
Blessings, Cindy

OK...you've got to hear this!

I just finished visiting a blog post where I commented, "This is now the 3rd post I've read today with the same theme. I wonder if God is trying to tell me something"!

I now visit here, and basically I hear God shouting at me - YES!!! God is speaking loud and clear into my heart today and I need to be "strong and courageous" and obey.

Thank you for this Word, His Word, today.
Blessings,
Joy

I definitely needed this today. I am facing a situation where the only thing I can do is be strong in the Lord and trust Him. I appreciate your sensitivity to our Father. Blessings.

If we ever need to be reminded that we are CHILDREN of God, it is through His repetition of His Word! Is it any wonder we do the same with our children?!

I was just chatting with someone about how difficult it is to revisit your past. But, I think God has a purpose for leaving such memories there in our brains, intact! My friend said that it allows us to witness to others going through similar circumstances. She's not wrong!

My add to that is that, if we are in Christ, we don't revisit the past in the same way, and not in our own strength. We can be strong and courageous when He stands with us (in front of us, over us, carrying us, etc. He knows where to be!).

I'm also thankful that when I'm not strong, that I have a strong God to carry me through and be my strength! Amen!

(And doesn't Sue J's friend sound smart?? Wonder who that could be? SMILE!)

God obviously is using you today is a BIG way to share those words from scripture!!!! Thanks for honoring Him by doing so!!

I need to visit Cindy's blog! She's on my heart already, and I don't even know her! I am really ready to put the leadership team together for our new Women's Ministry. I am trying to do this within God's perimeters and not mine! I am working on patience here! It's not easy--so I need to be reminded to be strong and courageous! Thank you sweet friend!
Love ya!

God is so loving and kind to keep encouraging us, and to keep assuring us that He is right there with us, ready for us to rely on Him and His strengh. Thank you for sharing this with us today!

And I love how the Lord backs up the command for us to be Strong and Courageous with the statement that He goes with us. Wonderful post.

OH, this is so funny...I was just driving home with my sister and we were talking of this very thing! I told her that I keep hearing the same message on something...you actually have it in your list. Thanks for the confirmation that the messages I keep hearing are ones I better listen to!
Also, I'm finishing reading the last chapter of the current study on my blog and it's exactly about what you talked about with Joshua.
So glad to "meet" you. Thank you so much for your prayers for the study! What an honor to know someone is lifting me up to God. Wow. And my Mom also...thank you!! I'm expecting God to really show off during this study. I don't know why, but I just believe He's going to take us places personally we've never been and I'm so excited about it!
I will squeeze Amiyah's cheeks for you! :) I'll even kiss on them.
Love your blog...I'll back!
Blessings,
Lelia
