Friday Challenge

Welcome to the site today. Thank you for visiting!

Are you ready to live a blessed life?

Serve.

Is there a neighbor who needs help with their yard? Do you know a family who could use some meals? Is there a single parent who is struggling to keep it all together? Do you have a friend who needs a few minutes to herself? It might be someone you don’t know who needs help loading his or her groceries.

I know He will lead you to someone you can serve, He will help you serve, and then because He is just so awesome, He will bless you for doing what He called you to do!!

Then he said, "Do you understand what I have done to you? You address me as 'Teacher' and 'Master,' and rightly so. That is what I am. So if I, the Master and Teacher, washed your feet, you must now wash each other's feet. I've laid down a pattern for you. What I've done, you do. I'm only pointing out the obvious. A servant is not ranked above his master; an employee doesn't give orders to the employer. If you understand what I'm telling you, act like it—and live a blessed life. John 13:12-17 (The Message)

How many times do we realize how blessed we are by serving? And when we aren't serving, how starved do we feel? I always feel like there is something significantly lacking from my days when I don't have a service focus.

What we need also remember is that service isn't always a big effort. Sometimes, it's the smile we leave on someone's blog, or the messy snack table that we clean up (again and again and again), or the yielding of a parking space.

If more would not see service as a challenge but as a call to love one another.....how different things might be. Thanks for your perspective and gracious thoughts!

I love the straight forward simplicity of this reminder. Stay focused on what we are called to do, serve others. Great thoughts!
Have a great weekend!

Hope you don't mind me crashing in on your blog. I found you on Nicki's three girly girls blog. I love this post and I also agree with Sue that serving others can be just in the little things. A bunch of little things can add up to a big impact on someone's life. I just have to stay in touch with the Holy Spirit in order to know where God specifically wants me to serve.

love,
sarah

Awesome reminder! Sometimes I mistake a divine appointment to serve as a momentary distraction to something I was trying to do; it's good to be reminded that we are here to serve and that I need to be storing up treasures in heaven.

Looking for opportunities,
Krista

Dear Mrs. On Purpose,
Thank you for thinking about me and prayng for me.

I'm enjoying school. I love my teacher. I am a little bit worried about our church. We don't know yet if we are going to stay or just be there until the new pastor comes.

You are a very special lady. A gift of God's own heart.

May I please pray a prayer for you?

Dear Jesus,
I want You to bring joy to Mrs. On Purpose. Lord, I pray that You will bless this lady.

For Your Glory Jesus,
Amen

Thank you so much.
Zoie (Pinkshoe lady's daughter)

PS I love shoes too!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and leaving such an encouraging prayer yesterday. I am doing well today.
I think I will find someone else to bless this weekend. Thanks for the great challenge.
Blessings, Cindy

There is so much scripture about serving, and how even a cup of water can be a blessing. (Matt 10:42). And you are serving God on your blog, teach and leading.

Isn't this a wonderful bloggy community we have?

Ok...your Friday Challenge, just became a Saturday Challenge (better late than never)!

Actually, the timing is amazing. My son and I just turned down a day at the CNE (Canadian National Exhibition - amusement park rides, concerts, shopping, Air Show etc...) to stay home and 'serve' my parents who are struggling. Reading this post is encouraging me to do so with great joy! Thanks!!!

Have a wonderful weekend,
Joy

Good post and a good reminder for me. I have found it to be true that my life is more positive when I serve others. Perhaps it is because it gives me a way to take my eyes of of me long enough to forget about my own issues. Thank you for this timely reminder.

(off topic) Ok I just now "really" looked at your header, which is very cute by the way. It struck me that it could send the message that you really "love" shoes, or it could send the message that you really "don't".

Just my wandering thoughts... have a great weekend!

Hey girl!
I just wanted you to know that I didn't get your email, for whatever reason! Hmmm....guess something mysterious happened in cyberspace. It's like the missing sock in the laundry! Who knows where things like that go, anyway.

So sorry...sounds like you spent some time writing it, so I hope you have a draft of it and can try to resend. I just didn't want you to think I was ignoring you. :)

Much love,
Lisa :)

Miss you so much...

This is such an important topic! I've been learning about hospitality and how God wants to use us to serve others.

Love the commentary here today, too!

God Bless,
Sonya

Thank you for stoping by. The news of breast cancer has put me in a place I have never been. I am the one who takes care of everyone and loves doing it. The tables are turning as I take this journey. I am learning to let people take care of me while I take a flight for my life with God as my pilot.
Thanks for your support
Cindy

When our fountain runs over with our serving God fills us up and it is a continuous flowing- overflowing. Oh that we could all catch a vision of the world serving one another. It IS such a joy giver!
