Hey Girlfriend how's your pinball game?

Happy New Year friends! It is going to be a great year filled with a whole lot of great stuff!

I am so glad you are here today visiting with me. I have just been filled with a whole lotta love from my Jesus and I hope to just scatter it on you while you are here visiting. And if you lived close enough I would have you over for a warm cup of Oregon Chai tea and we would just scatter the love and joy back and forth.

Have you ever played pinball?

You know that big machine game that lights up and makes a whole lot of hoots and hollars, and bells are ringing and points are racking up as the pinball is just bouncing and flying off everything it can run into, and its going as fast as it can?!

Can you relate to the little pinball inside that game?

I know there are times in my life that I sure can.

How do things look in your life right now?

Are you bouncing from relationship to relationship?

Are you racking up points with God?

Are you going from church to church to see which one is more entertaining and exciting?

How are your emotions, on a roller coaster?

Are you committed to anything?

What are you doing with all the stuff, points and prizes you are earning?

Is your job your job, or where you are suppose to be on purpose?

Can you keep up with all the trends?

You're cheating on God. If all you want is your own way, flirting with the world every chance you get, you end up enemies of God and His way. And do you suppose God doesn't care? The proverb has it that "He's a fiercely jealous lover.” And what He gives in love is far better than anything else you'll find. It's common knowledge that "God goes against the willful proud; God gives grace to the willing humble."
So let God work His will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper. Say a quiet yes to God and He'll be there in no time. Quit dabbling in sin. Purify your inner life. Quit playing the field. Hit bottom, and cry your eyes out. The fun and games are over. Get serious, really serious. Get down on your knees before the Master; it's the only way you'll get on your feet.
James 4:6-10 (The Message) (emphasis mine)

What Happens When Women Say No

To playing games.

To being a pinball just bouncing around.

What if we stopped bouncing around long enough to seek peace?

Be still, and know that I am God; Psalm 46:10

May you know that He loves you. He loves you with a love that covers you in grace and peace. A grace and peace that will still you still you long enough to hear His voice and to be filled with all you need to go and be living life on purpose.

Thank you for the encouragement. Yes, my life seems like an ever-continuing game of pinball. Emotions are running rampant in my neck of the woods. How thankful I am for school being back in session tomorrow. Maybe then, I'll be able to connect the dots better and see my way through the maze to my Jesus.

Oh, Nichole, I would LOVE to sit and drink Chai tea with you and scatter the love and joy back and forth.
Really.
That would be wonderful!
But since you're there and I'm here, I'm thankful we at least have the internet - over which we can scatter love and joy. *grin*

Thank you for your encouragement to be still - and to live on purpose. I truly have no desire to play games, to bounce around. God is my security and I am so thankful for His tight grip on me. Thankful for His love and grace and peace which carry me daily.

May the peace of Christ rest upon you today!

I think I'm in one of those slots that the ball falls into and sits for a time while another ball is released. I'm not sure where my ball is going next, at the moment, but I'm peacefully waiting--amidst the great din and lightshow!

I have done the back-and-forth and down the chute game too many times. This has been a huge 6 months of reflection in this area of my life, and I'm so happy to say how He has brought me to a place of rest and peace.

My sense is, though, that He has someplace else for me to go....

Like the analogy; it's tangible!
