My Secret

Last week was one of those weeks that was exhausting in many ways. I came to Friday filled with many emotions. I was physically tired and needing a long nap, I was mentally not able to work on a session that I will be giving next month, I was emotionally worn out knowing I needed to cry a good cry in His arms, spiritually I was waiting for the pain to have a purpose!

Have you ever felt like you were in the dark. Have you ever had one of those kinda days where things don’t seem right, feel right, and nothing is going your way..or so it seems! And then there is that point in the day where a little light makes a difference. So came the point in the day where I realized my underwear were inside out…yes girlfriends…you read it right. My secret is that my Victoria Secrets were inside out!

The only one that knew was me…until I shared my secret with you! I brought it out for you to see that I am one of those normal, genuine, real girls who gets dressed in a hurry in the dark and puts her underwear on inside out. Okay and the secret gets even better…I decided that since I didn’t realize this until half way into my day…I was going to leave them that way…

I know you are sitting at computer staring at the screen thinking 'why in the world is she sharing with us about her underwear?'

My lesson from my week and my inside out Victoria Secrets:

I can't do it in my strength, because I am in the dark in my flesh, I need to be in His light and let Him do it through me. I can't physically, mentally, or spiritually keep it together in the dark. Only He can bring purpose and meaning to my life in His light.

I lift up my eyes to the hills—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;

indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.

The LORD watches over you—
the LORD is your shade at your right hand;

the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.

The LORD will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;

the LORD will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.
Psalm 121

May we allow Him to bring purpose to our lifes!

Psalm 121 is one of my favorites! THanks so much for this.

Sorry about your undies!!! You are just precious!! I can realte to things not going right--usually when I have not had my quiet time or rushed through it or just rushsed through the day. I want to slow down and enjoy and worship Him--each day, not just on Sunday.

Hope that today will turn out great!!
Love ya,
Susan

Yes- it's hard to get back into the light when we step off the path- thanks for the giggles. Made me realize - when things seem dark, maybe they're NOT as bleak as we think they are: just stop and turn my issues right side out!

Your comment made me laugh on a lot of levels. Not at you sister. At me. You see, the other day, me, Miss Perfectionist, Miss Everything Right, Miss One Way - had her VS inside out too!! And I too said "what the hey" and left them that way. I too realized life is going by way to fast and I'm perhaps overwhelmed a bit.

That verse is one of my favs too, and I call on it often. Thanks for the post. Did I mention I could relate?!?!

You go girl! At least they were backwards! LOL I love the verses today and timely spoken. You are a wonderful inspiration to me, even when you wear your VS inside out!

Staying in the Light,

Well I found both the laughter and the tears that I needed here. Thank you for this. I really mean it. Right this second I am so in need of the Light.

I have done the same thing too, found halfway through the day that my undies were inside out and decided it just didn't make sense to turn them around at that point. LOL. One time I also went to work with my shirt on inside out. It was a knit pullover and the knit was such that it looked that same on both sides if you weren't paying attention. The day was almost over when someone that I worked with noticed it. We had a hearty laugh over it.

God bless!

Oh I am just giggling away! It's happened to me before too! We get so busy and so rushed. Sometimes our lives can move so fast with all that we are doing for our families. I am glad you were able to giggle! Sometimes some of my finer worship moments happen while watching my children play, or doing a devotion with them, or singing with them. God sees all we mothers of young ones do. He knows we are busy. He knows we have to be right there with them sometimes or they might get hurt. May you find some peace and rest in your busy days! I just glanced at everyone elses comments looks like we've all done it before and now we've all confessed! Your secret freed us all! We no longer have to be closet inside out underwear wearers anymore!

This was a heartfelt post, but funny, as well. I think it is very important to realize we need God in everything we attempt to do.

I once went to work with the same shoe, but one was black and the other was blue! I didn't notice it until I sat down at my desk! Oh the things we do.
