Ready to Fight

There are so many times that I find myself reading God’s word that I fall in love with Him even more. I am so amazed at how alive, intentional, meaningful and applicable His word is to our everyday lives. He has promised us that when we seek to find Him we will, and when we desire to know more of Him, He will reveal more of Himself to us.

I am reading in Romans and this morning I read chapter 8. As I was reading I started thinking, this section speaks to so many people’s hearts right now.

Do you feel like you are fighting a battle? Do you feel like there is something you have to conquer?

Have you lost a job and bills are still coming in the mailbox?

Has the plan for retirement taken on a different time frame?

Are you spending each day with a cancer inside your body?

Do you desire to be pregnant?

Is there a relationship that needs to be restored?

Does your church look like a war zone?

Is there an addiction that you are tired of wrestling with?

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
There is no situation too big, small, dark, or overwhelming that God cannot bring His good through. He chose us, He called our name, He will justify and He will bring glory!

What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?

Is there a circumstance or person in your life that you feel is just trying to take the very rug you are standing on right out from under your feet?

As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered." No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:28-39 (emphasis added)

Are you convinced that NOTHING can stand in the way of His love for you? We are more than conquers and there is NOTHING that in His power we cannot overcome. There is not a circumstance, disease, situation, or relationship that can trump the power of the cross!

May we go out and conquer in His power!

Amen Sista!!! This post reminds me of the song "The more I seek you" by Kari Jobe. If you've never heard it you'll have to look it up on either youtube or my post on September 17th. I know you will love it!!!

Thanks for your heart and love for Jesus and for letting Him love you like crazy!!! You are a blessing from above!

Love,
Nicole

I love these particular scriptures - and if ever there is a time when we need to cling to God's word (and these promises) it is NOW.

You don't know how very much I needed these words from Romans this morning! God is so good, and His timing is perfect. He brought me to your blog at this very time to calm me.

Thank you for your response to Him... your post touched a girl in Indiana profoundly!

Nichole, I found your blog today through someone else. I think Tiffany Stuart. I see her reply here also. I'll add you to my list.

Your words are quite inspiring. My whole life seems to be one big war/battle. If it weren't for the strength of the Lord I don't believe I'd be here testifying to HIS greatness. Praise God!

Talk about praying some scripture! It's so important, is it not, to have God's Word spoken, read, and believed in all of life's situations. When something "goes south" in my life, my immediate reaction is panic, confusion, and extreme "let's get it fixed as quick as possible!" I hate the curve balls, but as I am maturing in my relationship with the Lord, I am learning to default to his Word rather than hit the "freak out" button.

Thanks for scriptures and the reminder.

This such an encouraging word, Nicole. I needed to be reminded that He is using the situations in my life to conform me into the likeness of Jesus! Every thing in my life right at this moment can be worked together for good. Praise God!

And I LOVE the song by Kari Jobe. I just bought it from iTunes and have listened to it and listened to it and listened to it!

You are such a blessing!

Oh honey, yes. You've struck a chord with me. I feel I'm fighting my heart out (though not really "doing" anything---nothing to do but wait on God).

I desire for my marriage to be restored. My believing husband who should know better unbiblically divorced me and he is claiming God told him the covenant was broken...LIES from satan himself.

I'm so tired of this fight but I'm hanging on. I receive the email devo from rejoiceministries.org and many of their devos are about not giving up the fight, allowing God to fight for us, allowing Him to work in the situation to restore the marriages He joined.

I love Romans 8:28. I've had it written on my heart for many years but in the last 16 months I've really drawn strength from it. I HAVE to believe He will make good out of this. I have to trust He will resurrect the dead marriage He formed.

Thanks for these encouraging words to make me not feel so alone in my fight. We all have a fight. I just feel so alone with no partner. Typically, most endure their fight of pregnancy, cancer, illness, with their spouse. Without that spouse, it makes this road to incredible hard, hard, hard.
Sweet blessings,
Paula

Thank you, thank you for your encouragement and prayers! I'm unsure why I am SO stirred up lately. But I trust God is doing something. This is NOT like me to post so boldly to a future president. But then again, so much is at stake... LIVES.
